Politics: How do I overcome my fear of going to Florida?

I decided to do something different this year and leave Missouri to go to Florida for 3 months during the winter. I am leaving on Monday and I am starting to get nervous already. I am driving there. I am going all by myself. I am getting scared already to leave family behind. 

Do you have any advice? Have you ever traveled all by yourself somewhere?

Wear a bullet proof vest because that state has open carry law and stand your ground legislation.
