Do cigarettes cause cancer, or do they only increase the likelihood of cancer in certain people, of which lifestyle may also play part?

Smoking cigarettes is a risk factor for lung cancer. Not all people who smoke get lung cancer, but most lung cancer patients are current or former smokers. Smoking also increases your risk of throat and mouth cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer and heart attacks.

The latter would be more accurate.

If cigarettes caused cancer then everyone who smoked would get it.  Only people who don't understand how cancer works claim something causes cancer.   So will you stop posting variations of this idiocy over and over Mr Right?
