Is it possible to ask a question with a period at the end instead of a question mark.?

No. The system puts a question mark at the end of a question as a default value.?

Sure, if you're ungrammatical. Now, you will sometimes see certain cliché questions with a period at the end to indicate they're not actually questions at all but are so pointedly rhetorical a speaker often doesn't leave a long enough pause afterwards for listeners to get an answer in edgewise even if they wanted to, the most common example of this being: "How dare you."
Example: "How dare you. You have no business talking to me like that..."
In fact, to expound further on my example, it's so extremely common for writers to end a sentence that starts "How dare you" with either a period or an exclamation point that you'll hardly ever see it written with a question mark, at least not by professional authors or in writing that's been professionally edited.
