I wish to learn Italian but am finding it difficult and don't seem to put much effort. May you give me some tips please, so I can be fluent?

Watch Italian movies and TV-series with good subtitles in your native language

maybe take classes from a good teacher

You have to find an Italian and speak to him on computer conversations. 

Don't watch italian movies because they often use different dialects. Italians can acknowledge if a sentence is in Italian or in Roma dialect or in Neapolitan.  

You can watch cartoons. Some TV-series are almost completely in Neapolitan or in Sicilian.
