How do you find the sides AX and CX?

The two triangles are similar with vertices lining up as ABX ~ DCX so you make an extended proportion:
AB/DC = BX/CX = AX / DX then fill in the knowns
32/20 = 40/CX = AX/24
Then use the first ratio to make two equations, one with the second and one with the third, cross multiply and solve.
One would be 32/20 = 40/CX
32 CX = 40 • 20 = 800
CX = 800 ÷ 32
