No, I think part of what made it blue is that Trump was so insulting to McCain that some McCain voters voted against Trump.

McCain was a rhino, who did his party no favors, but it can be argued that the people of Arizona thought of him as a favorite son.  Trump made a mistake about making some of the comments he made which pissed off people enough that they voted against him even at the expense of what we're going to get with SloJoe Biden and the third term of the Obamanation.
