Nero would be a good one. It is not free but it supports a lot of video and audio formats. You can save money by buying an older version from a couple of years back on eBay  You can covert MP4 to wav using Nero. Storage space is cheap nowadays, so there is no need to compress the music.

Why ruin a good-quality audio track by converting it to MP3?  

             

I use WMA Lossless; FLAC and other good lossless codecs are also available.
