I usually put dried sage in and maybe a sprinkle of dried chives,  but you could put in herbs / seasonings to your taste.

I have, just to give it visual appeal, but it really doesn't do much more than that.

Do I?  Yes, in addition to my other seasonings I do add parsley.  I do prefer wheat bread to cornbread stuffing, but I make either in very much a similar way. 

Love to hear you call it "dressing"!   Must be a regional thing.   Here in the PacNW I say "dressing" and people look at me like I have three heads.   Cross the border into British Columbia and they speak my language.
