It is okay for either gender really my friend had a baby 3 years ago named him Lunar Allen, my husbands sister just had a girl and named her Lunar Marie!

I like the name Lunar....and i think that, no, it does not sound as masculine at all. 

It is an original and elegant name.

'Luna ',which means 'moon ' in Spanish, is one of my favourite names ever, by the way.

sound south american or mexican to me . once knew an italian girl named luana . hey luna or lunar fly me to the moon .you can name her moon , if she is asian ..

Not as strange as some.  Luna or Lunal / Lunelle would be more girlish.  But Lunar is not bad.
