scalar = speed, volume, mass, temperature, power, energy, and time.
vectors = force, velocity, acceleration, displacement, and momentum.
a) A vector quantity has a direction and a magnitude, while a scalar has only a magnitude. You can tell if a quantity is a vector by whether or not it has a direction associated with it.
b)
( i ) acceleration
( ii ) power and Energy
(iii) Pressure and stress have the same units. N/m^2
c) p-u-c-k
d) Initially, weight is greater than air resistance
Therefor acceleration (2nd law)
Air resistance upwards increases as speed increases
Eventually air resistance becomes equal and opposite to the weight so the resultant force is 0
Leaf moves at constant velocity (apply newtons 1st law)
-weight greater than air resistance
-air resistance increases with speed.
-resultant force is zero.
