What are the odds of survival for someone who just had their jaw torn off?

How quickly will they die?  What will they die of?  Etc.  Etc.  It's for a story.

Update:

And yes.  I am willing to bet that death will be pretty much instant.  I just want to make sure.

Depends on the locale.   Infection would be the likely cause of death and it would take days to weeks.
