Is the Bible(especially the Old Testament) pretty much like a patrilineal genealogy book of the Abrahamic family ?

the bible starts with Adam and Even continues to Enoch, seth and enos, too, and then to Noah and His sons.  Ham started the egyptian counterfeit religion because he was left without the patriarchal order of adam and from Shem went the birth right and through Melchizedek there was Abraham. and the promise was with Abraham, but it was also with all the people that believed in the covenant of the prophesied savior Jesus Christ. so, its more about Jesus Christ and His atonement that the bible was preserved. howebeit, the bible is incomplete and altered and edited from many plain and precious things.

If you read the Bible you'd see that's not true.

    No.

Genealogies take up a significant portion of the Bible

    but

certainly less than 10% of it.
