What would happen if the Assad regime rolled their tanks over the Syrian border into Israel held Golan Heights?

Would Iran and Russia join in?

Putin would go into full peacekeeper mode just like he did with the Nagorno dispute. That is what makes him a global leader-he actually can force a truce while Xi and Trump are still getting their pants on. When it comes to the Nobel Peace prize for 2020, if stopping a war is the criterion-then Putin has to be in the running. Who else stopped a shooting war in 2020? Putin well and truly put Erdogan in his place. I am not saying this because I like Putin, just that Putin relishes being a statesman. He would give his left nut to make peace in the middle east if he could.

Iran can't help the Assad regime with a tank battle on the Golan Heights. We are talking combined arms here. Without air cover, the Syrian tanks might as well be practice targets for the IDF. Think about how well Israel can use manned fighters and drones together. Imagine the friendly fire issues that would arise if Israeli, Syrian, Iranian and Russian aircraft were all in the same disputed airspace!

    Hello,

Israel would quite rightly defend its ancestral lands, which include the Golan Heights.

Uploaded Image: The reader can view the following combined image, comparing two maps - the post-Biblical Jewish Hasmonean Kingdom of Judah, compared with an inserted modern map showing the location of the Israel-controlled Golan Heights - area ringed in yellow:

The last indigenous sovereign state (in the land on which the name “Palestine” was imposed by Roman-occupiers), prior to the RE-establishment of Israel in 1948, was the post-Biblical Jewish Hasmonean Kingdom of Judah (aka Judea). It included the West Bank, Gaza, and Golan Heights. Its capital was (what is now East) Jerusalem; between 110 BCE / 754 BH and 63 BCE / 706 BH:

    I hope this helps.

the Israelis would Kick their asps and No Russia would stay Out they don't want a stupid war over any Muslim country

The same thing would happen as in 1967.   Israel would destroy the tanks and at the same time hit a bunch of other military assets in Syria such as airbases.    Assad is not stupid.

In 2020, the Syrian government has less ability to do anything at all militarily against Israel than anytime in the last 50 years. The Israeli's would have live fire target practice on a massive scale.
