He offered to be a reference. It has been a year and I lost his number and now I need a reference. I found him on Twitter and his account is private but he allows messages. He has a gf so I don’t want to make him feel uncomfortable. I want to seem professional and respectful. What should I message him on Twitter? Is it okay to message him? I really need a reference.

Send him a message that says you have been trying to find him because he promised you a reference, so would he please get back to you.
