Why are Republican Senators TERRIFIED of Trump?

They are terrified of Trump because they know that his supporters will do anything he says, without even thinking about it.  And if that means voting for a challenger in the next primary, that is what scares republican senators; fear of losing seats.

Because the base of the Republican party are Trump supporters, go against Trump and risk not being re-elected next time around.

Well, not all are.  Right now, though, many are concerned about the Georgia run-off elections, for which Trump supporters will be crucial if the Republicans are to retain control of the Senate.

Others have races coming up in 2022, and they think they'll need to depend on Trumpkins to retain their own seats.

However, I think even the Trumpkins will be moving on to newer figures. Donnie's going to fade into the woodwork once he's out of the White House.  He's not going to be the power and influence he thinks, and the Republicans won't need to concern themselves with him.
