Yes, because by boiling the water, it kills all the microbes that might be living in the water.

No, because the water still has chlorine, fluoride, and other chemicals to make the water fresh... you're not actually supposed to drink tap water.

Distilled water is best. It's filtered so much that there is nothing in it.

The water in most areas of the US is very stringently analyzed and the quality is very good.  Boiling is not necessary.  If there has been a water main break and the water supply has been compromised you will be told to boil your water.

Yes.  I doubt that it would be better unless you live in Flint.

Of course it is safe to drink. Why wouldn't it be. The only time boiled water is better than tap is when you have water issues. Do you have your own well or are you on city water? If you have a well, have your water tested regularly, just to be sure it is ok, but once it has been tested and you know it is good, just drink that. No need to boil it.

It would depend on what was in the water before you boiled it. If it contained dangerous bacteria then boiling it thoroughly should make it safe. If it was radioactive or contained poison then boiling would be unlikely to have any effect.

The tap water contained dangerous bacteria then boiling it before drinking it would be “better”  otherwise the water would taste flat as all the oxygen will have been boiled out of it.

In the UK if your tap water needed to be boiled before drinking it you would be informed. Otherwise, why do it?

Depends on what state your local water is in.

"is it safe to drink boiled (cooled) water?"    Depends on where you got the water.

"is it better than drinkin it straight from the tap?"    Depends on where you are.

Boiling water kills bacteria and zoonotic critters.  It doesn't remove contaminants like lead.

Tap water is safe in some places and not safe in others.  You didn't bother to tell us where you are and we are not clairvoyant.
