Yes.
There was a serious defect in the electrical system. After a dealer supplied rental for six weeks, the dealer gave me a different new vehicle (about $6000 higher value), five years extended warranty, three years of service and maintenance, and $1000 Best Buy gift card.

No flucking way. Never. Or it is the battery(which is made by a different company) so not part of the car itself.

Bit six months but less than a year. It was the last car I had with old fashioned ignition which was susceptible to damp weather.
Since the with electronic ignition, the only non- starters Ive had , have been due to an old or flat battery.

Usually they fail sooner than that if there is a manufacturing fault . . . . . . unless it's a Fiat/Chrysler: six months is their average useful life.

It happens, was moving a brand new mini-van once, just pulled off the truck and it went about 2 ft back from the parking lot and failed. Added fuel because that is always suspect with new cars but no go. IT happens and warranty will cover you.

Ive never had a new car and never will but Id imagine its not too uncommon. Like 1 in 1000 or something versus 1 in a million.

This is fairly common. A new car has not been thoroughly tested. A used car has proven itself

C'mon now List CAR TYPE>>>GIVE MORE DETAILS there are some STILL very bad cars out there like the JEEP LIBERTY with the 3.7 liter engine. ALL CARS that are NEW have a WARRANTY period and what you say here seems impossible!
