Question about cooking time in a crockpot?

I'm making a roast in a crock pot and the recipe states to cook on low for 10-12 hours. However, I'm only making half of the recipe (1.5 lb beef top roast instead of 3 lbs). Would I also cut the cooking time in half, or is it okay for it to cook the entire 10 hours?

Doesn't really work that way. For a roast at 10 hours on Low, it will take half that time to cook the same amount on High. Halving the roast will not make an appreciable difference. Just remember to add SOME liquid to the pot-like 1/4 cup to either size roast.
