Why is calling out members here considered wrong?
It's not like their life is in danger because you called out their username. Plus, there's a lot of users here who appear to think they are indestructible, but as soon as you call out their name, they get all defensive about it... it's so cringey.

Because it's a site for information-seeking questions, not to chat to each other or about each other. It's not a message board or a grade school recess yard. YA was designed to be a knowledge database, so asking why so-and-so behaves as they do, or if other users like user so-and-so, isn't appropriate and adds zero value to the database. If you see users posting violations, report them and move on. There is no need to call them out, and in many cases it's just downright juvenile. More trolls and site abusers would leave the site if their posts were ignored, but too many feel the need to respond which just eggs them on.

Because its always been considered a form of chat. It depends how its worded,if its friendly and amusing, non-insulting and asks what others are also wondering it may be allowed.

It could be either for chatting (calling them out), harassing, or threatening another user. Insulting another user is another reason for what you asked about, as well as gossiping about them. Both the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service strictly prohibit this behavior. That is already wrong under the rules. What you asked about can end up causing a lot of problems.

Because calling people out is harassment that is often insulting, maliciously and intentionally provoking, inflaming divisive and defaming harassment, obsessive stalking, chatting and gossipping AND it exploits the time and attention of the entire YA community. It is NOT a knowledge seeking question of general interest to the YA community.
THIS question is also a provoking, inflaming, exploiting rant because you are desperate to get your ego fed and emotional revenge on the YA community members?who take their time to report questions and answers. You are baiting and fishing.

Because this site was meant for questions that people in the future want to have the answer to.

It is chatting and this is not a social site. Also, 90% of those posts are insulting, bullying, or implying others should bully. Since 90% are violations, it is easier to call all of them chatting.
