Does the iPad have a new built-in filter for the camera?

I recently got a new iPad and just opened up the front facing camera and it looks like there’s a filter built into it, and I don’t like it. My face looks weirdly smooth and I can’t get it to focus on the details of things that are close up. Does it have a built-in filter now, and if so, is there anyway to take the filter off? because I like my pictures to be crisp not blurred
