If we remove Confederate statues and rename bases that are named after Confederate soldiers, should we also rename the Democratic party?

ANTIFA and BLM, where you at? The Democratic party name at one time was associated with slavery, the Confederacy, and Jim Crow. You're traumatized by the name. So, for the good of humanity, the Democratic party must change it's name. Right? Or are we just going to cherry-pick what offends us?

Update:

Princess, then Democrats should have no problem abandoning the name of the party. The name has too many negative connotations and ties to past injustices.

I have an idea let’s  leave flags monuments military bases where and how they are especially since we have had a black president and successful black Americans in every profession in this country in spite of history and all of these thing ARE history.  How about standing up and saying that your oppression and quality of life are your responsibility and not to be blamed on a flag statue name of a military base slavery or white privilege PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

We are going to cherry-pick what offends us (on both sides of the political aisle) and we're going to ignore it when politicians we like do bad things.

The guys waving stars and bars defending slavery killed the guys waving stars and stripes. That's treason and should not be glorified. The dems rebranded to embrace civil rights because a basic tenet of liberalism calls for equality. The opposition came f/ the reps and the south. Many people swapped party over this highly charged issue. It's how the south became so red. Those facts speak much louder than your opinion.

The Democratic Party split into Northern and Southern factions in 1948, and the break became final when the Northern Democrats adopted the Civil Rights Act, and the Southern Democrats did not, and turned Republican as a result.  There were 11 Southern Republicans in Congress in 1964, and all of them voted against the Civil Rights Act.

That is one problem the democrats cancel culture has. Their party has deeper ties to slaver, and racism than any other institution.

It already happened. They did change their name.

Conservatives are associated with slavery, the Confederacy, and Jim Crow.

They used to be called Democrats. Now they are called Republicans.

This was like, 70 years ago.  Perhaps it hasn't hit your trailer park yet.
