When do Thailand borders open to U.S. and U.K. tourism again?

Why not just let everyone that get on a plane to Thailand take a quick covid test with a temperature check and cotton swab up the nose passage before boarding?

Thailand is being very conscience and careful of letting people into Thailand, Thai's returning from abroad also. Thailand is willing to work very hard to keep the virus under control in the country. There is a lot we still do not know about COVID, thus the precautions.

When those countries have COVID under control (something which is clearly lacking)

The risk is too great at the moment.
