Home made vehicles end at soap boxes.

The idea of flying in a home made plane is too scary to comprehend.

Building Aircraft For Dummies should do it.

Look on Internet or a library for aeronautical design.

You can buy kits to build one, or buy plans for aircraft to build yourself if you buy the parts.

The Wright Brothers didn't need no stinkin' book.....

    - and they were printers and bicycle mechanics, not "engineers".

Go to eaa.org and browse their book store.

Try Aircraft Spruce, they have a book section also.

your IQ is too low to build an airplane. all you would be able to do is buy parts that someone else already made, and then assemble them.

"A" book? Seriously? Like ONE book?

A 4 year engineering curriculum at university barely scratches the surface; a single book can hardly cover it all.

If you want a head start, try Daniel Raymer "Aircraft design: a conceptual approach".
