How bad is 1 Volt?
I have an old Dell Inspiron 1420 with no power cable, so I rummaged around my box of cords and found one that fits. It outputs 18.5v 3.5 amps, while the original charger is 19.5v 3.4 amps. The polarities are the same, just the one I have produces one volt less. Will it break the laptop or will it just charge slower?

Just try it. A volt too little will not harm the laptop, but it might not charge your battery at all
