Will spouses still be married in the spiritual after life? Will you recognize your family and children?

We will recognize each other, but there will be no marriage in heaven.

The truth is that death leads to heaven or hell, and the only way to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible is very clear that no one can earn their way to heaven since good works do not pay for sins. See Gal. 2:16, Rom. 3:23-28, 4:4-5, Eph. 2:8-9, Tit. 3:5. The only way to heaven is by believing in Jesus for His free gift of eternal life. Jesus shed His blood on the cross as the full payment for our sins. He did all the work; all He requires of us is that we believe in Him. Once you believe in Jesus Christ to save you, you are secure forever!

Because we have all sinned against a perfectly holy and righteous God, we all deserve eternal separation from God in hell (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross as our Substitute so we don't have to go to hell. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave three days later (1 Cor. 15:3-4). He gives eternal life freely to anyone who simply believes in Him for it. No one can be saved by doing good works. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9).

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).

God promises a Paradise on Earth once wickedness is removed and he will resurrect the dead. Those who had spouses that had previously died will not be married since death ends a marriage. However, if the couple are both alive and both make it into Paradise together then they will still be married.

When Jesus was resurrected he wasn’t recognizable physically as he had a new body and face but the people eventually recognized him because his personality was the same. As we can’t be dogmatic, but it would be possible if our loved ones died with a physical ailment they would be resurrected with a new perfect body but we’d still recognize their characteristics and personality, that wouldn’t change.

Matthew 22:30 KJV — For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Mark 12:25 KJV — For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

God gives us new bodies and new names.

Romans 8:23 — And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.

Revelation 2:17 — He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Everyone will recognize each other in heaven, but people are not married to each other in heaven.  When a person dies, they will be in heaven or hell, and they can't get out of hell if that is where they go.  To not go to hell, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, without adding any of your works.  Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God and who died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for all our sins, and who resurrected from the dead.
