If it was something they wanted but it never happened for them, yes. I named my own daughter after my great-aunt who was one such person. She really wanted kids but had severe endometriosis, and her only hope would have been IVF, but it didn't exist yet at the time. Limits on ages of adoptive parents were also lower then than they are now, so by the time she managed to get my uncle to agree to look into adoption, they were told they were too old.

No opportunity or didn’t on purpose? I have no pity for the people who don’t want kids...at least they have the opportunity to have it that some other people would kill for
