How to record a video with time/date stamp visible?

Question

I have to record a video for a music audition and the website requests for the time/date stamp to be visible within the video. Are there any programs that would allow me to do this or let me do it from my phone? Should I purchase an actual video camera? Thanks!

A camcorder is a good idea. 

          

Most of them will display the time and date on the output, 

but it is Your job to Make Sure It Will before you buy anything.
