If mass transit gets permanently shut down does that get you out of your gym contract if you can’t get there?

I don't see any legal connection between the obligation to pay them and your option to show up.

Hypothetically: If they were somehow responsible for picking you up and fail to do that, they may be found to have frustrated your ability to benefit from the bargain and thus in violation of that agreement.

In any case, you may simply give them notice to terminate your contract, according to its terms.

Ready your Gym Contract....I seriously believe mass transit has NOTHING to do with your Gym Membership.

You'd have to read the contract.

If you CLAIM mass transit was shut down, the judge will LAUGH in chambers after ruling against you.

No. Your gym contract does not say there has to be mass transit. How you get there is your problem not the gyms.
