If I have to pick a decade as being best. I like the silent movie comedies

    The Gold Rush [1925]

Safety Last.  [1923] Harold Lloyd. The funniest silent comedy, ever.

The Jazz Singer. [1927] First talking movie.

The 1950s were also awesome. With the first wide- screen epics

Source(s): That's if I have to pick a whole decade. Pantomime is funny, like circus acrobats.

    -12 Angry Men

    -On the Waterfront

-usually Bridge on the River Kwai, but if this can only be counted as a British movie and not Hollywood movie, I would replace it with "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"
