Yes, because it takes winning someone over and getting the person to spend a lifetime (hopefully) with you and be happy enough with you to want mini-yous.

I'm a guy and am not married.  I don't have the time or energy to devote to that.

No. Not saying you shouldn't have kids. If you want to have kids, please go ahead and have kids. However, people aren't remembered for who their ancestors or descendants are. How many of us can name Abraham Lincoln's kids? Or Albert Einstein's? Or Pablo Picasso's? Hell, did they even have kids? If you want to leave your mark on the world you have to do so, not by having kids, but by achieving something great.
