Should I get into skateboarding even though I have had achilles’ tendon ruptures in the past?

I’ve always been fascinated with skating, but I’ve leaned towards ball sports for my entire life (mainly basketball). I have torn both my left and right achilles while playing basketball on two separate occasions (one year apart). I am only 21 and am relatively healthy and athletic. I may just have naturally weak achilles, but I have been stretching  and strengthening a lot more since my surgeries. I am fully recovered now as it’s been almost a year since my last surgery.

I bought a board last week and have just been cruising and working on my stance. I eventually want to get into flat ground tricks, but I am not too confident in my achilles despite them being repaired.

Should I just go for it? Or should I not risk it?
