Why is it that Jesus commanded us to "Be ye PERFECT" as He baptizes us (Jn 1:33) "more perfectly" (Acts 18:26) but today's Christians say NO?

JESUS COMMANDED us in Matthew 5:48

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

John 1:33 says "...the same is (((HE))) which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost"

Paul had a "night vision" (Acts 18:9-10) in which Jesus revealed "the way of God more perfectly" (Acts 18:26) for baptism rather than a water baptism (Acts 18:25).

Why do today's Christians say "NO! I'm going with a man baptizing me who leaves me a powerless wet DEAD spirit" (Rm 5:12)?

Update 2:

"Only the Christian Pope (as G*D's representative on Earth) and his minions are authorized to define scripture?"

Where did GOD SAY "I will make the catholic pope My representative on Earth"(Isaiah 8:20)?

We, who are born of this world, are not perfect. We can be good people, righteous people, but never perfect.

"Perfect" translates as "complete" quite often in scripture.
