Signs of aging: Reading Wikipedia articles and being able to understand them?

Have they written in more simpler English or am I am getting better at understanding the English language? Even the science and math sections are easy enough to read, though understanding the math requires specialised learning.

Update:

"Developed in 1952", damn goes way back, but doesn't say much about people still using it.

    More and more writers are using fog indexes to check how readable their text is.
