Voting Trump: WV. Do they still expect "clean, beautiful coal" will make a comeback as Trump promised in '16 campaign?

Trump assured them that miners would be working the mines again, but it hasn't happened AT ALL.               https://www.wsj.com/articles/in-pro-trump-west-vir...

(I was wrong, he actually said beautiful clean coal)

Update 2:

A great businessman who fails to comprehend the numbers. One who said he'd run the nation as he ran his businesses. Hmmm.

Update 3:

Powering the cars is done through charging stations. Those don't have to use fossil fuels. The tiny country of Switzerland has over 600 water power plants. They still have some nuclear, but only two or three percent fossil fuel power. I haven't been there since the 1990s but I would expect lots of solar and expect there are many electric cars and the charging stations use this combo. You see no power lines; they're underground. Ah, bergsommer in Grisons! Gruezi mitenand ~!

    clean coal

Trump thinks clean coal has been washed. He doesn't understand what it means.

Burning coal releases more radioactivity than a nuclear power plant and to get the particles out of the burning process, costs a lot of money.

Of fossil fuels, natural gas is the best to burn for waste purposes.  (Clean coal refers to low sulfur coal)

Fuels used, unless regulated for pollution or mandated sources, go for the cheapest overall including delivery. US Presidents only work with the environmental laws and mandates away from fossil fuels.

Natural Gas $3.05 per million Btu

    Ethanol $1.57 USD per Gallon, 80,000 BTU/gal

Coal $56.25 per Ton, 20 million BTU per ton

    Oil $40/barrel  5.5 million BTU/barrel

    $100 buys

32.8 million BTUs of Natural Gas

    5.1 million BTUs of Ethanol

    35.6 million BTU of Coal

    13.8 million BUT Petroleum

Not enough cost savings to use coal, that is harder to transport and requires more work to clean the burned byproducts.

But, coal needs transport and scrubbing in the exhaust.

And if coal is not cheap enough, they close the mines, and when it's too cheap, they can't run the business paying workers.

Dump is a life long conman and liar, all he ever does is lie. If you are one of the few that still believe him, shame on you.

What do you suppose will be powering all those clean, beautiful, electric cars?  Windmills?
