This rice cooker in our kitchen caught fire on its own without even the connecting wire being plugged in to the power socket.  ?

Can someone explain this? This rice cooker in our Pulchowk househelps’ kitchen caught fire on its own the day before yesterday at around 5:00 PM without even the connecting wire being plugged in to the power socket. It was unplugged in the previous evening. Even the wall socket power switch had been turned off. Luckily one old maid smelt clothes burning. She went in and saw kitchen towels burning. She managed to douse the fire. What’s strange is that the rice cooker pot itself was spotlessly clean with no burnt particles. Could it be an Apparition effect?

BTW, our Pulchowk house adjoins the Khadgajogini temple hillock.

Unless you are presuming some miraculous event, the cooker must have been using electricity to create enough heat to catch fire.  I assume it had not been put on top of a hot ring or burner on a stove top.

'Spotlessly clean'? I see a photo of a seriously-burned pot.
