Should the most populated states, New York & California, elect our President? ?

Less populated states should just STFU, correct?

This is exactly why the framers of the US Constitution instituted the electoral college in presidential elections. They knew that wielding minds of heavier populated states would try to control the say of who would be POTUS without any consent or competition from lower populated states as clearly outlined with the narrative in your question.

Should we eliminate the Electoral College and elect the President strictly by the popular vote so everyone's votes all carry equal weight?

The more populated states would likely do better if they were just on their own.

I think to be more fair- maybe a system where we let 1 random state pick the president every election. What could go wrong?
