Most Jews considered him a prophet at the time.  Others viewed him as a nuisance.

They used to like him until he told everyone to follow Jesus .

According to many/most historians, John the Baptist was the true prophet and Jesus was his assistant. Chroniclers of the time wrote about John the Baptist in detail, with only scant reference to Jesus.

Since Christianity and Judaism are separate religions, religious figures of Christianity have no relevancy in Judaism.

    So, there is no view.

"I'm a Christian but a Jew was the best man at my wedding"

Wins the award for the non sequitur of the day (possibly the week).
