What were the causes of the Black Death, and why did it spread so quickly throughout Western Europe?

    It was probably from black rats and spread because people failed to socially distance and wear masks, apart from highwaymen which is why they were so successful,

    Carried  by fleas. It spread relatively slowly, mainly by infested rats that inhabited sailing vessels going from port to port; once it appeared in a location it transferred to the human population, poor sanitation and overcrowding did the rest. The pandemic took about 7 years to spread across Europe.

    Because, they refused to keep social distance & wear masks & gloves. They thought only Republicans could get the plague.
