Is it a big deal if a court reporter is in a relationship with the prosecuting attorney?

and also if it was not disclosed to the defense, not sure how significant of a conflict of interest it would be considered as the court reporter may have more access to the judge or privlidged information, etc

It's not appropriate but all a court reporter does is record what is said in the courtroom. The court reporter has no access to judges or privileged information.

There is no conflict of interest.  A court reporter only takes down the transcript of the proceedings.  They have no hand in the outcome.  Court reporter does not have access to the judge or privileged information.
