What does this quote regarding alcohol mean to you?

“Alcohol is a pervasive fact of life, but an extraordinary fact - pleasureable and destructive, anathematized and adulated, and deeply ambiguous - the genie in the bottle,”

I think the ancient Greeks call wine,"the gift and curse of the Gods". In small amounts ts it's good, but too much leads to problems.

Use it to enhance good times, not make bad times better.

To me it means that alcohol is something that you desparately want until you get it, and once you have it you see how dangerous it actually is.

Sounds pretty accurate. Handle with caution.

I don’t drink. Never have. I don’t think I could have achieved what I have if I drank. I fundamentally disagree with Mr. Edwards that alcohol is in any way a good thing.
