Discrete Mathematics HELP!?

Your instructor has decided she wants try to complete a Spartan Beast race. She will stop trying if she completes the race or after three attempts. The probability of completing the race on a first attempt is 1/4 , on a second attempt is 1/2 and on a third and final attempt 3/4 . You can assume that these attempts are independent. Is she guaranteed to succeed? If yes, explain why. If no, what are her chances of succeeding, i.e, determine the probability that she finishes the race?
