Is it required for me to put my dads va disability on my fafsa if it’s not considered income to the irs?

My dad got va disability for 2019 but it says on the irs website that it is not considered income but its considered income to the fafsa?? My sister spoke to the financial aid counselor at her school last year and they didn’t put the benefits on there and she also went through the verification process and was able to get financial aid with no problems. I just don’t want to get in any trouble with DOE but idk how much that would affect my aid.

Disability compensation is counted on FAFSA as untaxed income and benefits.  It is part of total income, which also includes adjusted gross income (AGI), and so has the same impact on eligibility for need-based aid as taxable income.
