Is Greek mythology largely withheld from the American education system?

    Withheld? No, it’s not anything nefarious or intentional that it’s not included, it’s just that it’s not deemed necessary or vital to compulsory education. Latin isn’t taught either, nor is it taught how to use a slide rule or shorthand. As technology grows at exponential rates, curriculum designers have to make adjustments and prune old items to make room for new ones. University and private reading is where they reside now.

    seems like a very low priority subject -- eastern european history would seem more relevant, along with at least another 20 subjects i can think of
