can someone explain something to me?

in picture D it shows the islets of Langerhans if we compare it to picture C are the islets of Langerhans supposed to be on the sides of the acinar cells like facing the edges(outside of the figure aka number 2)  or are they supposed to be between the acinar cells as in the brown ombre kind of place (aka number 1)
