Is this considered sleeping in the same bed?

For married people and such, is a split/divided bed considered sleeping together or sleeping separately?

Like a rail you would put on a child's bed? Weird. What's the point?

Together, this is what my husband and I have done. I have a medical need a mechanical bed that allows me to sleep semi upright. We got two and fit them into our bed frame. so two beds in one.

By the way a lot of beds in Europe are just like this as the norm.

I'm not sure why it matters how a couple decides to sleep

I call that sleeping together. It's irrelevant whether it's one mattress or two when they're right up against each other.

I can't tell if it's one large bed-cover or two individual ones.
