if you're wearing a non surgical grade medical mask properly, do you still need to try and sneeze into your elbow?

  • If there's gaps in the mask yes you should. Or stay away from other people at least 6ft if you have to sneeze and can't do it into your inner elbow. If you use your hands, wash / sanitize them if you can't wash them.

Think of protective measures aslayers of Swiss cheese piled up with some holes matching and some not.  The more layers, the fewer holes will let slip 'the mayonnaise'.

More is better.  Do it if possible.

Oh hell yes.  Even if you're wearing a surgical grade mask.

The goal is to keep the little germ-buggers from travelling, and you want to use every weapon you can in the battle.  Sneeze into your elbow, wear a mask, wash your hands, stay 2m apart, sanitize every surface you can reach, the whole nine yards.

It doesn’t hurt to try to limit the distance your sneezes go.
