I have been taking medicine that now my insurance says they pay for it only if it is generic. How can I convince my doctor to prescribe it?

My insurance and my doctor insist that there is absolutely no difference between the generic and the brand one and therefore they will not pay for the brand medicine which is way more expensive. However, when I take the generic I vomit and it makes me feel nauseous. I clearly see my body does not react the same and my doctor either does not believe me or does not want to annoy the insurance company.

How can I convince her?

Take notes and give the facts to your doctor.
