Why do so many people complain about doing the washing ?

You put clothes in a machine, hang them then put them away 

How hard is that

I agree. But i do find loading and unloading my dishwasher a chore. I think machines have made us lazy. I never hand write a letter anymore either. I'm off to have a bath and my lovely wife will scrub my back. I just haven't got the energy to DIY.

No idea. In the days before affordable automatic washers it used to take the best part of a morning to do the washing (and clean the kitchen when something decided to malfunction and spray water everywhere). That and chasing a spin dryer round the room and schlepping it all out to the washing line and bringing it all back in when the rain began it was quite exhausting. That was without the joy of ironing it all.

Wouldn't it be great if you just had somebody to do all that kind of stuff for you without pay? Like a slave, or a wife.
