Is it a good idea to learn two languages at once?

I am learning Spanish in school and I am thinking learning either Japanese or French on my own (Most likey french) is this a good idea?

    I recommend taking a year of one language to get it firmly established in your mind, and then starting the second language.

    However, Japanese is considered very challenging for anglos. It is recommended that you learn an "easy" one to some fluency before learning Japanese

    The only language with over a million users that is considerably easier than French or Spanish is Esperanto  [Toki Pona doesn't count]

    Learning another romantic language will be easy because they have the same rules as Spanish. Research Romantic Languages
