Atheist "logic" - "I don't know Him, therefore He cannot exist, even though hundreds of millions of people do know Him".

    "Evidence"?

That's like saying look to the comics if you don't believe in Charlie Brown...

Read it a long time ago.  Went a long way to making me non-christian and ultimately an atheist.  Other religions concepts of god were just as absurd.  The bible is not evidence for the existence of god any more than the Vedic literature or the Granth Sahib.  No book is.

I have read the bible. Most atheists have. It is the reason many of us are atheists.

There is considerable doubt that there was even a man named Jesus.

That's not true as many atheists have read the Bible (or part of it) and still find no evidence for God. Just to point out, a book telling you about God is not proof that that God exists, just as a book telling you about Odin is not proof that that god exists. Fortunately, God has provided two other lines of evidence to pursue, to back up the claims in the Bible, and the problem with most atheists is that they don't search there. Of course, once a person declares they are an atheist, they have no reason to look at the Bible - why would they read about God any more than they would argue on a web-site against a god they say doesn't exist? That's illogical.

Spiritual growth cannot take place if one does not understand simple basic Christianity [John 3:1-3]. No wonder they can't make any reference to something they haven't experienced for themselves, which is why they will use their lack of understanding as an excuse to dismiss God.

    _____________

antonius, are you ever able to identify and avoid false information? I think not!

You might as well say, “Drink bleach, you’ll be fine” ...just an eager (and gullible) bunch of sponges will seize the opportunity without realizing the dangers; look where that got you. Who has said that wrong information has nothing to do with malice? Well, I strongly disagree.

We need to remember also that God doesn't always call those who are equipped to do His work. He often equips the called. Wow! Some of the weirdest languages are widely understood, or what am I saying...

Atheists have often lost their belief in the existence of God by doing precisely that.  Also, quite a few atheists know the Bible better than Jews and Christians.

Edit:  Antonius, the word translated as "him" there is "autoi".  This is in the dative, not the genitive, and therefore means "for him" and not "of him".
